Alligator Adventure in Barefoot Landing is known as the “Reptile Capital of the World.” Alligators are one of the oldest species of animals on earth. Though the they the predominant species living on the natural preserve other wild life denizens reside such as river otters, tropical birds, beavers, representatives of the big cats, turtles, lemurs and more.

The “Serpentarium” contains some of the world’s largest and deadliest snakes. One resident the King Cobra is considered one of the most intelligent snakes in the world. Visitors will also be able to observe the green anaconda; known to reach lengths of over thirty-seven feet. The famous Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises cohabitate with unusual and rare amphibians, lizards and turtles in the turtle yard. Siberian tigers, African Servals and Caracals find their home at Alligator Adventure as well.

Alligator Adventure strives to give each species a home as close to their native environment as possible. Representative species of animals from around the world call this home. The beautifully landscaped swamps and marshes allow visitors to enjoy the animals in a natural environment. Alligator Adventure is open year round and offers educational live shows. During the warm months when alligators are most active guests will enjoy live feedings and lectures. During the cooler months alligators do not eat however there are demonstrations on to how handle these pre-historic animals. Snake handling demonstrations are done as well, year round, to help people gain insight into these misunderstood creatures.

Tickets are available online and at the gate. There are special offers throughout the year.
