Waccatee ZooWaccatee Zoo is located at the junction of the Waccamaw River, Intracoastal Waterway and Socastee Creek. There are over 500 hundred acres of preserved wooded property that is called home by over 100 species of animals. This is a privately owned wildlife sanctuary. There is a gift shop, snack bar, restrooms, picnic areas, wagon rental (for the little ones) and food for the animals.

Waccatee Zoo zebrasWaccatee Zoo opened to the public twenty years not long after opening their doors to the animals. It has since grown into a popular Grand Strand attraction. The admission rates are reasonable for a large family to be able to and enjoy themselves. This is will captivate the entire family as they wind their way through the property. It is not your typical urban zoo; it is in a farm like setting and does not have the feel of a concrete jungle. Visitors can feed and pet many of the animals as they enjoy one of Myrtle Beach’s best kept secrets.
