Golfers at the Dan Maples designed Willbrook Plantation Golf Club don’t just get a great round of golf but get a history lesson as well with informational signs throughout the course giving details of old plantations like the two on which its built.

ARROWHEAD COUNTRY CLUB

The result of a collaborative effort of the design team of Raymond Floyd and Tom Jackson, varying elevations of each of the three nine-hole tracks of the 27-hole Arrowhead Golf Course are just one of the factors that makes it so rewarding to play.

BAREFOOT GOLF & RESORT – PETE DYE GOLF COURSE

The handiwork of world-renowned golf course architect Pete Dye, the Barefoot Dye Golf Course that bears his name is one of the crown jewels of courses along the Grand Strand. Opened in 1996, the course incorporates many of the design features for which Dye courses are well known with fairways featuring ample mounding and bunkering.

MAN O’ WAR GOLF COURSE

With water just about everywhere, the Man O’ War course features water hazards on 16 of its holes, many of them from the 100-acre lake that works its way through the course.

One of the best public courses since opening in 1990, the Tom Doak designed Legends Heathland Golf Course takes its design from the golfing tradition of the British Isles and courses such as Lahinch, Cruden Bay and St. Andrews.

BLACKMOOR GOLF COURSE

The only course along the Grand Strand designed by PGA great and course designer extraordinaire Gary Player, the Blackmoor Golf Course in Longwood Plantation in Murrells Inlet captures the moss-draped antebellum beauty of the old rice plantation on which it sits.
